catch-up post 3
This is the last design in the book that incorporates fair-isle colorwork (only 4 more to go). These socks are named after Maurits Escher, the well-known Dutch graphic artist.
I know him mainly of his works with neverending stairs, but he also has done lots of projects with tesselations. For instance this one with lizards.
At first I did not notice in the sock pattern that there are two different lizards. I was so focussed on the pale olive ones (horizontally), that I did not see the dark green ones (vertically). Only when I took a picture I saw them!
There is also a lizard on the heel (no good picture, sorry) and on both footsoles.
I really like the outcome, and don't have a recipient for these just now. Maybe I should just keep them for myself.
