I already wrote about knitting one below this year. I experimented a bit more, by knitting this cowl. Not too sure about the finished object, very happy with my colours!
Another variation on the stitch is halfbrioche. You knit fishermens rib on the right side, and garter stitch on the wrong side. Maybe not very clear to see in this selfstriping yarn, but the idea is to have a thicker fabric on the outside, and flatter on the inside for this baby balaclava.
And last week I learned another variation, the tuck stitch, from the brioche queen herself, Nancy Marchant.
Nu is het alweer boek vier dat zal verschijnen. En voor boek vijf heeft ze ook al ideeën en hebben we fascinerende dingen gezien... Iets om naar uit te kijken.
Nancy is working on a new book about tuck stitches that is planned for release this summer. She brought a lot of samples to admire. There were some very nice ones with variegated yarns, combinations of thick and thin yarns...
I went to the book presentation of her very first book (report here on my blog). She still remembered me, especially because I have a hard name to spell when signing a book. She will publish her 4th book now, and has enough ideas for a 5th book also... Something to look forward to.
